Mexican ice age animals

These were originally drawn for the Mexican Independence Day of 2021 and depict prehistoric mammals known to have inhabited Mexico during the last ie age but drawn as 19th and 20th century Mexicans. The animals featured are a saber-toothed cat, an American lioness, an ancient bison, a Panamerican ground sloth, and last but not least a Columbian mammoth based on Jose Maria Morelos, a leader in the Mexican Independence War and writer of the Constitution
